The following link: HUCTW_Newsletter_Winter_2024 takes you to HUCTW’s end of year HUCTW newsletter, which puts a spotlight on all the HUCTW-negotiated education benefits available to members, including:
- The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), which allows member to take Harvard classes for graduate credit, for undergraduate credit, or for no credit, at a steep discount.
- The TAP Tax Reimbursement Program, which reimburses members for the majority of the tax burden associated with non-job-related graduate level classes if they surpass the annual tax-free limit of $5250 in total value.
- The Tuition Reimbursement Program (TRP), which assists members with the cost of classes taken at accredited institutions outside of Harvard, up to $5250 per year tax-free.
- The Education Fund, which helps members with the cost of non-Harvard classes and workshops that are not otherwise eligible for the programs listed above. But it can also supplement TRP funding once you’ve used up your annual $5250 benefit.
- Contract language, which allows members to take time away from work for learning, whether that learning is job-related or not.
The newsletter also lists upcoming dates and deadlines, the time reporting instructions for the winter recess and holidays, and the annual minimum dues changes mandated by our parent union AFSCME
