How to Put Your Award Money Into an FSA

You can receive your 2025 Childcare Fund award money in two ways: (1) through a tax-free Dependent Care flexible spending account (FSA) or (2) through the HUCTW office at a tax withholding rate of about 38%. Please review our document comparing the two methods of award delivery before making your choice about which method to use.

If you would like to put your Childcare Award into a tax-free Dependent Care flexible spending account (FSA), it is critical that you use the following PDF form to do so. This form has two fields – one for your childcare fellowship award money, and a second for any funds you want to include in the FSA from your paycheck. Do NOT use PeopleSoft to elect a Dependent Care FSA. You must submit the following form to Michelle Todd in the Benefits Office by Thursday, November 7 (the end of Open Enrollment) to put your award money into an FSA. You can download the form using the following link: https://huctw.org/Childcare_FSA_Enrollment_2025

If you do not want to put your award money into a flexible spending account, you do not need to take any action at this time.

Please note that if your first child has not been born yet, you cannot enroll in an FSA at this time. Instead, you have 30 days after the birth of your child to submit the FSA enrollment form above to the Benefits Office. Please let us know if you have any questions.
