Important Deadline: March 31

March 31, 2018 is an important deadline for four reimbursement programs that you may not know about. Please see details below:

2017 Healthcare Copayment Reimbursement Program, Deadline: March 31, 2018
The HUCTW Copayment Reimbursement Program helps HUCTW members with their annual medical copayment costs if they reach above certain amounts. If you or your family members spent a significant amount on copayments or prescriptions in calendar year 2017, you may be eligible for reimbursement under this program. You can apply by filling out the copayment reimbursement form and either (1) submitting an Activity Statement from your insurer or (2) submitting receipts as proof of payment. 2017 Flexible Spending Account Program, Deadline: March 31, 2018
In order to be eligible to be reimbursed for 2017 costs under this program, you need to have opened a flexible spending account (FSA) during the November 2016 Open Enrollment. The FSA program allows staff to set aside money from their paychecks pre-tax in order to pay for healthcare expenses or childcare/dependent care expenses. If you enrolled in an FSA for 2017, you have until March 31, 2018 to submit reimbursement requests for FSA-eligible purchases made between January 1, 2017 and March 15, 2018, using the FSA claim form. 2017 Fitness Reimbursement Program, Deadline: March 31, 2018
If you belonged to a health club or gym for at least four months during 2017 and are enrolled in either HUGHP or Harvard Pilgrim, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement of your health club membership fees. Both HUGHP and Harvard Pilgrim offer a Fitness Reimbursement Program that will reimburse you for up to $150 in membership fees for qualifying health clubs and gyms. You can apply by submitting your insurer’s Fitness Reimbursement Form. 2017 Bike Commuter Benefit, Deadline: March 31, 2018
Eligible bicycle commuters can receive tax-free reimbursement of up to $20/month at a maximum of $240/year for the costs associated with bicycle purchase, improvement, safety, repair, and storage in 2017 under this program run by CommuterChoice. Please note that you can only be reimbursed for months during which you do not receive a subsidized MBTA pass or University annual parking pass. You can apply by submitting a Bicycle Expense Claim Form, along with photocopied receipts for your 2017 expenses. Please note that bike commuter reimbursement payments may be delayed due to the recent federal tax bill. Learn more:
