Local Harvard HR offices are offering informational interviews called “Career Conversations” every third Thursday from January through June, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Disability Insurance Enrollment Deadline

Harvard is offering a one-time enrollment period for Long Term Disability Insurance (LTD) between April 24 and May 5. Whatever your age or your health status, you may want to seriously consider taking advantage of this opportunity, if you are not already enrolled in LTD Insurance through Harvard. If you are ever unable to work due to accident, injury, or illness, LTD Insurance will pay you a monthly income and continue your health insurance coverage for an extended period of time. …

Important March 31 Deadline Approaching

March 31 is an important deadline for four Harvard reimbursement programs: (1) the 2016 HUCTW Copayment Reimbursement Program, which assists HUCTW members with their annual medical copayment costs (2) the 2016 Flexible Spending Account Program, which allows staff to set aside money pre-tax for healthcare or dependent care expenses (3) the 2016 Fitness Reimbursement Program, which partially reimburses staff for health club membership fees and (4) the 2016 Bike Commuter Benefit, which assists with associated with bicycle purchase and repair.…

HUCTW Copay Reimbursement Program

Harvard and HUCTW recently negotiated a new version of of the Copayment Reimbursement Program, which helps HUCTW members with their annual medical copayment costs if they reach above certain amounts. In 2016, the program helps with copays for doctor visits and prescriptions, and in 2017 the program will also start assisting with copays for hospital and ER visits, as well as high tech imaging. In all three years of the new contract, you are eligible for this program if you are an HUCTW staff member enrolled in a Harvard health plan, and if your copayments exceed the amounts (“copayment caps”) listed for your salary range.…

Executive Order: HUCTW Response & Assistance

Some of you have reached out to the HUCTW office to express concerns about President Trump’s Executive Order temporarily preventing citizens from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen from entering the United States and indefinitely barring Syrian refugees from entering the U.S. Please know that HUCTW leaders are also very concerned about the effects of the Order. HUCTW members and Harvard faculty, students, and staff come from almost every country in world, including Muslim-majority countries, and we want to express our ongoing support for and solidarity with all of our valued immigrant colleagues.
