Fighting Back Against Federal Policy Changes
Like many of you, HUCTW leaders are outraged by the Trump administration’s attacks against the rights and livelihoods of our community members, including most recently:
- The seizure and detention of international university students and staff (including Kseniia Petrova from Harvard).
- The arbitrary firing of thousands of federal workers and the Executive Order to abolish federal workers’ union contracts and bargaining rights.
- The erasure of people of color and LGBTQ+ Americans from federal records and honors, and the dismantling of their rights and protections.
- And, of course, the threatened cuts to critical research funding at Harvard and to HUCTW members’ essential work.
There are actions we can take together to fight back against these attacks on our community members and our jobs, including this Saturday at the National Day of Action! Stand with your fellow union members, and thousands of others, at the Hands-Off rallies happening nationwide April 5 from 11:00 – 2:00.
- At
the Boston rally, join Senator Ed Markey, Mass AFL-CIO President Chrissy Lynch, and the Dropkick Murphys, and many others, at Boston Common on Sat. April 5 at 11:00 am (with an 11:25 am march to City Hall Plaza for a rally lasting until 2:00 pm). Details:
