Your 2025 Salary Increase & Other Updates
The next pay raise for HUCTW members will go into effect on July 1, 2025. A member with the average HUCTW salary ($73,700) who has at least one year of service will receive about a 3.5% raise to their base annual salary, but you can use our salary increase calculator to determine your raise based on your particular salary and months of service.
Members need to have been on the payroll for one full year as of July 1, 2025 to be eligible for the full 2025 raise. Those with less than one year of service as of July 1, 2025 will be eligible for a partial 2025 raise, which will be pro-rated depending on their months of service.

Protests on International Workers’ Day
As you may know, Thursday, May 1 is International Workers’ Day, also known as “May Day.” It’s a day to honor the struggles and achievements of workers and the labor movement worldwide. This May Day, rallies will be held across the country to protest the Trump administration’s onslaught against working people—including attacks on our schools, universities, economic stability, healthcare, organized labor, Social Security, Medicare, and the rights of our immigrant and trans community members. On May 1 we can stand with millions of others across the nation to fight these anti-worker attacks!

HUCTW Anti-Racism Group
Several years ago, HUCTW established the internal Anti-Racism Group (ARG)—led by our Anti-Racism & DEI Advocate, Tasha Williams—to work with HUCTW members, Union office organizers, and University leadership to identify structural barriers that can hinder the success and well-being of people of color at Harvard and help find ways to remove those barriers. The group also works closely with HUCTW Organizers to strengthen day-to-day support for members of color, working to ensure that all members receive equitable representation and advocacy in the workplace.
Most recently, Tasha and the ARG launched a pilot workshop series designed to create a safe discussion space for Black HUCTW employees to share their stories, reflect on their experiences, and talk about the unique challenges they face working at Harvard.
- One member’s feedback on the pilot workshop series: “When I first started working at Harvard, I really wished something like this existed, because I often felt like I had no one to turn to who could truly understand what I was going through…it was difficult to even put it into words because I had never encountered anything like it in my previous roles. I’m truly grateful to know that there’s a space where I can express myself and connect with others who have faced similar challenges. Thank you!”
The response to the workshops has been overwhelmingly positive. The ARG is using the thoughtful feedback from participants to enhance and broaden the workshop series for the wider community.
You can learn more about the Anti-Racism Group and their ongoing work on the new ARG section of our website: https://huctw.org/huctw-anti-racism-group-arg.
