Education Fund Deadline: June 10

The Education Fund is an HUCTW-Harvard negotiated program that helps with the cost of courses not eligible for reimbursement TRP and TAP. Courses and programs eligible for the Education Fund include things such as test prep courses, conferences and seminars, and continuing education classes at non-accredited institutions. The Education Fund will also help with the costs of non-Harvard courses eligible for TRP if you have used up your entire $5,250 annual TRP reimbursement maximum.…

Sexual Harassment Policy Concerns

Learn about the ongoing dispute between HUCTW leaders and Harvard administrators regarding the University’s refusal to abide by our longstanding contractual agreement around the review and resolution of sexual harassment complaints in the workplace. In 1989, Harvard and HUCTW agreed to a formal problem-resolution process to address Union members’ complaints of sexual harassment at Harvard. However, recently, when HUCTW members have brought forward complaints of harassment to HUCTW— requesting our contractual process — University administrators have refused to engage in the required meetings. …

Upcoming Reimbursement Deadlines

March 31, 2021 is typically an important deadline for three reimbursement programs open to HUCTW members: (1) Copay Reimbursement (2) Fitness Reimbursement (3) Dependent Care & Healthcare FSA Reimbursements. Excused Absence Policy

We want to update you about a policy change Harvard announced on November 12 around the use of “Emergency Excused Absence” pay. It has become clear that some members didn’t receive the initial email from Harvard announcing the change. This policy change pertains to those entering “Excused Absence” time with the absence reason “COVID-19” in PeopleSoft because they are unable to work some or all of their regularly scheduled hours due to pandemic-related campus restrictions. …

Coronavirus Information for HUCTW Members

As you saw in the latest communication from Harvard administrators about the fall semester, most Harvard staff members will continue to work from home until the end of the calendar year in order to maintain low campus density. Some Harvard staff members whose work requires them to be on site have been asked to return to campus. HUCTW and Harvard have agreed that members who work on campus more than four hours a week will be tested for COVID-19 on a recurring basis. …

Commemoration to Honor the Lives Lost to COVID-19

The Memorial Church at Harvard University invites community members and their families and friends to participate in a University-wide Commemoration to Honor the Lives Lost to COVID-19. The Commemoration will take place on Sunday, November 1. Tuesday, September 22, is National Voter Registration Day and we want to provide you with some important dates and links so that you and your family members can make sure you have a plan to vote in the upcoming election. Have you made your plan to vote in the November 3rd election? Will you (1) vote by mail, (2) vote in-person early, or (3) vote in-person on election day? Massachusetts mailed vote-by-mail applications to residents, but if you still need one, you can download a PDF application on the Secretary of State's website.
